App Empire is an awesome book that provides useful information and strategies to go from knowing NOTHING to developing a mobile application business that can sustain itself (not just one-hit-wonder apps).

App Empire, if nothing else, should open your eyes to the potential of the mobile app space. 

Most other app books focus on the design/development of apps. This is the first one I've read in which smart MARKETING is the focus. As a developer, this book is now an essential resource in my app-marketing arsenal.  

As the founder of Empire Apps and co-founder of T3 Apps and Best Apps, three mobile application businesses, Chad Mureta is a veteran in the app industry.

This book is a good primer on how to get into the app world as a developer. It doesn't include a bunch of technical jargon or programming info, because that's not Chad Mureta's specialty. It tells you how to create an app business through outsourcing and smart marketing.  

Most books like this fill the first half with the entire historical record of the industry (apps), THEN finally get to the nuts and bolts. Not App Empire. No page is wasted.
